Where Does United American Sell Medicare Supplement Plan B?
What Costs Does Medicare Supplement Plan B from United American Cover?
Medicare Supplement Plan B helps seniors fill in the coverage gaps in their traditional Medicare benefits, including some deductibles, co-payments and excess charges. United American Insurance Company sells this policy in some areas, but not all (see above).
Where available, here's what a Plan B policy from United American covers:
- Medicare Part A hospital and coinsurance costs up to an additional 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or co-payments
- Medicare Part A deductible
- First three pints of blood used in a medical procedure
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or co-payments
United American's Plan B does not cover these expenses:
- Medicare Part B deductible
- Medicare Part B excess charges
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) care coinsurance
- Foreign travel emergency care
United American's Medicare Plan B helps you pay for your major medical costs. Specifically, it covers some of your deductibles, co-payments and coinsurances from unexpected procedures and inpatient care. Plan B is an optioon for seniors who need more than Medicare's basic coverage of inpatient costs.
United American has the ability to adjust monthly premiums based on three price rating systems: community-rated, issue-age-rated, and attained-age-rated. This is why premium costs vary from plan to plan, as well as your age. Depending on a variety of factors including location, gender, age, and health status, the monthly premium you pay will vary. You must get a quote for your exact details.
Despite the differences in rates and pricing methods, if you enroll in this policy through United American they must notify you of rate changes in advance. Also, the insurance company can not alter what the policy covers and can't cancel your policy unless you do not pay the monthly premium.
