How Medicare Supplement Plan M from Farm Bureau Covers You
Medicare Plan M offers seniors a compromise between the basic coverage of Plan A and the comprehensive coverage of Plan F. Farm Bureau Health Plans provides Plan L in limited areas (see above). Here's how this plan covers your costs:
- Medicare Part A hospital coinsurance and hospital costs up to 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Part A hospice care coinsurance payment or co-payment
- Medicare Part B co-payment or coinsurance payment
- Part B preventive care coinsurance payment
- First three pints of blood for a medical procedure
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) coinsurance
- Medicare Part A deductible costs
- Foreign travel emergency coverage (up to plan limits)
If you enroll in this Plan M through Farm Bureau, 50% of your Medicare Part A deductible is paid, but you pay the Part B deductible out-of-pocket. However, once the Part B deductible is met, there are no more co-payments at your doctor's office. You will also pay for any Medicare excess charges out-of-pocket. Excess charges are an extra amount that a doctor or physician can charge (up to 15%) for a visit or service.
