Where Does Farm Bureau Offer Its Medicare Supplement Plan B?
How Medicare Supplement Plan B from Farm Bureau Covers You
Medicare Supplement Plan B helps seniors fill in the coverage gaps in their original Medicare benefits, including some deductibles, co-payments and excess charges. Farm Bureau Health Plans sells this policy in some states, but not all (see above).
Where available, here's what a Plan B policy from Farm Bureau covers:
- Medicare Part A hospital and coinsurance costs up to an additional 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or co-payments
- Medicare Part A deductible
- First three pints of blood used in a medical procedure
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or co-payments
Farm Bureau's Medicare Plan B does not pay these charges:
- Medicare Part B deductible
- Medicare Part B excess charges
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) care coinsurance
- Foreign travel emergency care
Farm Bureau's Medicare Supplement Plan B helps you pay for your major medical costs. Particularly, it pays for costly deductibles, co-payments and coinsurances from unexpected procedures and hospitalization. Plan B is ideal for seniors who need more than Medicare's basic coverage of inpatient costs.
Farm Bureau can set monthly premiums based off of three price rating systems: community-rated, issue-age-rated, and attained-age-rated. This is why premium costs vary from plan to plan, as well as your age. Depending on a variety of factors including location, gender, age, and health status, the monthly premium you pay will vary. You must get a quote for your exact details.
Despite the differences in rates and pricing methods, if you buy this policy through Farm Bureau they must notify you of rate increases in advance. Also, the carrier may not alter what the plan covers and can't cancel coverage unless you fail to pay the monthly premium.
