How Medicare Supplement Plan B from Central States Covers You
Medigap Plan B helps seniors pay for the coverage gaps in their traditional Medicare benefits, including some deductibles, co-payments and excess charges. Central States Indemnity Co. of Omaha offers this plan in some states, but not all (see above).
Where available, here's what a Plan B policy from Central States covers:
- Medicare Part A hospital and coinsurance costs up to an additional 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or co-payments
- Medicare Part A deductible
- First three pints of blood used in a medical procedure
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or co-payments
Central States's Plan B doesn't pay these charges:
- Medicare Part B deductible
- Medicare Part B excess charges
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) care coinsurance
- Foreign travel emergency care
Central States's Medicare Plan B helps you pay for your major medical costs. Specifically, it pays for some of your deductibles, co-payments and coinsurances from unexpected procedures and hospitalization. Plan B is an optioon for seniors who need more than Medicare's basic coverage of inpatient costs.
Central States has the ability to set monthly premiums based on three price rating methods: community-rated, issue-age-rated, and attained-age-rated. This is why premium costs vary from plan to plan, as well as your age. Depending on a variety of factors including location, gender, age, and health status, the monthly premium you pay will vary. You must get a quote for your exact details.
No matter which pricing method is used, if you enroll in this plan through Central States they must notify you of rate increases in advance. Additionally, the carrier is not allowed to alter what the plan covers and can not cancel coverage unless you do not pay the monthly premium.
