Issue-Age Rated Medigap Plans: With an Issue Age rated plan your monthly premium is based on your age you're first issued coverage. For instance, if your get your policy at age 65 and your premium is $125, it may remain the same rate until age 72. However, you're age 72 when you enroll, your premium might start at $170, but would not increase based on by your age. Premiums will increase with inflation.

Eligibility

Transamerica supplemental Medicare insurance policies are available to all Medicare beneficiaries in Michigan at age 65. You must be enrolled in both Medicare Parts A and B.

If you are within your first six months of Medicare enrollment, you have guaranteed issue rights and cannot be turned down. Transamerica is required to issue the Medicare Supplement policy of your choice. So long as you make no material misrepresentations and pay your premiums, your policy cannot be canceled.
