Oxford Life scored 3.0 out of 5.0 based on our scoring method. Although their Plan F is not in the top 10 best rates, Oxford Life has been servicing Medicare Supplements for over 10 years and has a good financial rating from A.M. Best. Another slight negative is their $15.00 policy fee. This is a good carrier, but there are other good Medigap carriers with lower rates in Maryland. See the top 10 competition.

Here are the pros and cons from our analysis:

Pros

  • Excellent financial strength.
  • More than 20 years in the Medicare Supplements business.

Cons

  • Uncompetitive Plan F premium.
  • Does not offer Medicare SELECT plans.
  • Does not offer the 5 most popular plans.
  • Charges a fee to write the policy.
