What Medigap Policies Does AARP Sell in Oregon?
AARP (Insured by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company) sells 10 Medicare supplements in Oregon. Each lettered plan pays Medicare benefits differently (see comparison chart or check out our review). Here they are at a glance:
Community Rated Medigap Plans: When a plan is "Community Rated" the community will all be charged the same monthly premium if enrolled in the same plan. As an example, if you enroll at age 65 or 72 you would be charged the same amount. Premiums will increase, but your age will not be a factor.

If you qualify for Medicare and don't know where to start, MedicareEnrollment.com, an independent HealthCompare insurance broker, has licensed agents who can help you with your Medicare enrollment options.
SAVINGS OPPORTUNITY: AARP offers Medicare SELECT plan policies in some areas of Oregon. A Select plan is a Medigap policy that requires you to use specific hospitals and, in some cases specific doctors, to get the full financial benefit of the plan. A Medicare SELECT plan pays the Medicare Part A inpatient deductible when you use a network hospital or if you use a non-network hospital for emergency care. Otherwise, you pay the inpatient deductible. Other than that it's the same as the standard Medigap plan.
