David Bynon is a Medicare analyst, data scientist, and U.S. Navy veteran with a distinguished career spanning healthcare IT, global enterprise systems, and national defense. As the founder of MedicareWire.com, David has dedicated himself since 2012 to providing seniors with unbiased, data-driven insights into Medicare plans.
David began his healthcare technology career as Director of Systems and Networks at HealthNet, where he gained firsthand experience with Medicare and HMO infrastructures. He later served as Vice President of Global Systems at Sony Pictures Entertainment, overseeing enterprise systems strategy and architecture at a global scale.
In his final tour with the U.S. Navy Reserve, David served as Command Chief at Tactical Air Control Squadron 11 (TACRON-11), where he led command-level operations and personnel. TACRON 11 detachments deploy throughout the Pacific Fleet, providing centralized planning, control, and integration of air operations in support of amphibious operations. His military background in cryptology, cybersecurity, and information technology forms the foundation of his technical expertise today. He was awarded four Navy Achievement Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals, and Letters of Commendation from flag-level officers during his career.
In the 1980s and 90s, he authored several technical books—including Mastering VMS—and wrote a regular column for DEC* Professional magazine.
David developed MedicareWire’s Plan Finder software to make private Medicare plan data more transparent and accessible for seniors nationwide. His research and analysis focus on accuracy, compliance, and empowering informed choices.
