Sentinel Security Medicare Supplement Plan B for Arizona helps people with Medicare Part A and Part B coverage fill in the Medicare coverage gaps, including some deductibles, co-payments and excess charges. The monthly premium and availability on this insurance policy may differ, but the benefits do not. Plan B is one of ten standardized Medigap plans.
Plan B helps you pay your major medical. Specifically, it pays for some of your co-payment and co-insurances from unexpected procedures and hospitalization. Plan B is ideal for those who want more than Medicare's coverage of inpatient costs.
Plan B offers basic coverage for:
- Medicare Part A hospital and coinsurance costs up to an additional 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or co-payments
- Medicare Part A deductible
- First three pints of blood used in a medical procedure
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or co-payments
Plan B does not cover these costs:
- Medicare Part B deductible
- Medicare Part B excess charges
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) care coinsurance
- Foreign travel emergency care
Coverage and Costs
Sentinel Security Life Insurance Co has the ability to set their own monthly premiums based off of three price rating systems: community-rated, issue-age-rated, and attained-age-rated. This is why premium costs vary from plan to plan, as well as your age. Depending on a variety of factors including location, gender, age, and health status, the premium you pay for Sentinel Security Medicare Supplement Plan B will vary. You must get a quote for your exact details.
Despite the differences in rates and pricing methods, if you enroll in this plan the carrier must notify you in advance if it plans to increase its premiums. Additionally, the insurance company may not change what the policy covers and may not cancel coverage unless an enrollee does not pay the plan premium.
The chart below explains how this plan covers the portions of Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) that are not paid by Medicare.
The following table details how the plan covers the portions of Medicare Part B (medical insurance) that are not paid by Medicare.
